Stocks maintain uptrend on higher transaction

Stocks maintained upward trends on Tuesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.

The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 744.50 crore from Monday’s Taka 671.99 crore and the daily trade also rose to 20.48 crore share from 16.37 crore share of the previous session.

The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 25.18 points up at 6,129.69. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.24 points up at 2,210.72 and with 2.85 points up at 1,328.70.

At DSE, out of the day’s 334 securities, prices of 114 securities closed higher against 172 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were Shahjalal Bank, Eastern Lubricants, EBL, MTB and Northern Jute while the major losing issues were BD Welding, Zeal Bangla, BDCOM, Progressive Life and KPPL.

Ifad Autos topped the turnover list followed by City Bank, Shahjalal Bank, BBS Cables and Square Pharma.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 92.42 points up at 19,024.49. At CSE, 240 issues were traded. Of those, 88 closed higher and 128 closed lower.
