Stocks witness gain in two BD bourses

Both the bourses –- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — witnessed positive trends on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 8.71 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 5,810.61 at 1:09 pm.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 2.15 points or 0.16 percent to stand at 1,314.50 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also rose 0.63 points or 0.03 percent to stand at 2,124.87 points.

Trade deals stood at 51,482 with the transaction at over Tk 3,347.23 million on the DSE.

Of the issues traded till then, 161 advanced, 104 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged.

IDLC Finance dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 213.10 million changing hands till then followed by BRAC Bank, RAK Ceramics and City Bank.

The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 8.03 points to stand at 10,887.20 points, also at 1:06 am.

Of the issues traded till then, 99 gained, 79 declined and 48 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 194 million.
