Mymensingh, Sept 8 – A clash took place between students of two residential halls of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on a silly matter.Sources said, on Thursday, Soron and his friends of Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall had beaten Shakil of Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall. They are both first year students of Agriculture Faculty. At the evening on this matter, first year students of two halls were in clash at Kamal Ranjit Market (KR) of the university.
Following the incident, on Friday evening, the first and second year students of Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall had beaten another student Fuad of Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall in front of ladies hall. Shortly after, the students of Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall also beat Sayem of Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall at Karim Bhavan area.
The students of Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall and Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall tried to come out with stick to beat one another but the senior students of those halls controlled the situation. But university administrative was not seen in the spot to calm the situation.
Assistant Proctor Professor Dr Md Tanvir Rahman said that the matter was related to senior-junior. We have not received any kind of written and verbal complaints from anyone.
Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall Chhatra League President Deepak Haldar said, I took all the agitation students to my hall to calm the situation.
Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall President Sentu Rahman said that, after the incident, I brought the injured Fuad and the student of my hall to calm the situation.
When contacted with BCL president Sabuj Kazi over phone, he did not receive the call. – BAU Correspondent
