Sultan Mela concludes in Narail

A Ten-day ‘Sultan Mela’ in celebration of the 93th birth anniversary of world famous artist SM Sultan concluded here at Sultan Mancha on the Government Victoria College premises on Thursday  night.
Different cultural groups in association with SM Sultan Foundation and district administration arranged the fair.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr.Biren Sikder attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest while Narail Zila parishad Chairman Advocate Shorab Hossen Biswas, Superintendent of Police Sarder Raquibul Islam, District Awami League president Advocate Subas Chandra Bose,Sultan Foundation’s General Secretary Ashiqur Rahman Miku attended the session as special guests.
Deputy Commissioner of Narail and Sultan Foundation’s president Md.Emdadul Hoq Chowdhury presided over the concluding session.
A series of colourful events includes Art exhibition, Art competition, Bull fighting, Lathikhela, wrestling, Hadu-du, song and varieties of grameen sports were the attraction of the visitors.
Besides, seminar on Sultan and other renowned persons including Dr.Nihar Ranjan Gupta, Folk Singer Bijoy Sarker, Bir Srestha Nur Mohammad, Moslem Uddin, Kamol Das Gupta’s life and works and cultural programmes were arranged during the fair.
A total of 100 stalls were set up with traditional textile and cottage industry products on the Mela venue.
