Dhaka – A suspected terrorist was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Burma Stand in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj early Sunday, UNB news agency reported. The deceased was identified as Delu alias Master Delu, a top terrorist of the area.Officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station M Sharafatullah said Delu and his cohorts were taking preparation to commit a robbery at Barma Stand at night.
Being tipped off, a team of Rab conducted a drive there.
However, sensing presence of the elite force members, Delu and his associates opened fire tat the law enforcers, forcing them to retaliate that triggered the gunfight around 3:30am.
At one stage, Delu sustained bullet injuries.
Later, he was whisked off to a private clinic where the doctors declared him dead.
Delu was wanted in 11 cases filed with several police stations including for robbery, drug peddling and arms smuggling.
