Dhaka-A court here on Sunday again sent suspended Gazipur City Corporation Mayor MA Mannan to jail in an arson case.Senior Judicial Magistrate Tahmina Khanam Shilpi passed the order when police produced Mannan before the court on expiry of his two-day remand, said Gazipur court inspector Robiul Islam.
Mannan was taken to Kaliakoir Police Station on Saturday from Kashimpur Central Jail for interrogation after a court placed him on a two-day remand in a case filed with with the police station for torching a bus carrying police near Kaliakoir Ansar Academy.
On February 11, detectives picked MA Mannan up from his DOHS residence in Baridhara of the capital. Mannan is facing a number of cases filed with Tongi, Joydevpur, Kaliakoir and Sreepur police stations on various charges.
