A court here on Monday further turned down the bail plea of suspended Habiganj municipality mayor Golam Kibria Gaus, now in custody, in the former finance minister Kibria murder case.District and Sessions Judge Mahbubul Islam passed the order after hearing the bail plea submitted by the accused.The Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry on January 7 suspended the municipality mayor as he was implicated in the Kibria murder case.On December 28 last, a Habiganj court sent Gaus, also the district BNP general secretary, to jail, rejecting his bail prayer.Nearly a month ago, the court accepted the supplementary charge-sheet filed against 35 people, including G K Gaus, by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police in connection with the killing of five people, including Shah AMS Kibria. -UNB, Habiganj
