Chittagong – A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Swechhasebak Dal was hacked to death in South Khulshi area of the city early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Selim, 33, a member of Pahartali ward-13 unit of Swechhasebak Dal and son of late Abdur Razzaque of Harinathpur village in Barisal.
Victim’s brother Jony said Selim remained missing since he was called out of home by some local terrorists on Saturday night.
Local people found the body of Selim in the area and informed police on Sunday morning.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College hospital for autopsy.
Mainul Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station, the motive behind killing could not be known immediately.
A case was filed with Khulshi Police station in this connection. – UNB
