Bangladesh has welcomed the agreement on the framework for Elimination of Syrian Chemical Weapons reached between the United States and the Russian Federation on September 14 in Geneva. The deal is aimed at the complete and verifiable destruction of chemical weapons of Syria at the earliest and in a safest manner.
“Bangladesh hopes that the initiative will contribute towards a diplomatic solution to the situation in Syria ensuring the central role of the United Nations,” said a Foreign Ministry note here on Wednesday.
Bangladesh has reiterated its call for a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis reflecting the aspirations of the people Syria upholding its national sovereignty, independence, national unity and integrity. – UNB
