Artworks exhibited in Dessins à l’encre are different than Tamim’s previous solos. As an artist and fine art student in France, Tamim came to explore the age old method of creating drawings and paintings from live models. Most of the works presented for this exhibition are done in the renowned atelier of ‘Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Montparnasse, Paris and Tamim was awarded for his works over there.
Different types of inks-work and bamboo pens were used to create these drawing-paintings. The artworks reflect different models with different poses over a course of different time-frames. These are very recent works of the artist which he is delighted to share with audience.
This is Tamim’s fourth solo exhibition at Alliance Française de Dhaka. His first solo exhibition was held in 2006, the consequent ones in 2008 and in 2010 with different types of works and installations.
The exhibition will be open to all till 13 August, 2016. Visiting Hours: Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday (9 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 8 pm). Closed on Sunday.
