The United Nations has celebrated its 70th anniversary on 24 October, 2015. In spite of various limitations the United Nations has made remarkable progress in enhancing world peace and development. I extend hearty felicitations to UN on this auspicious day!UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had rightly said at the General Assembly debate on the maintenance of international peace and security on 01 Oct’15–“In many respects, the world is shifting beneath our feet. Yet the Charter remains a firm foundation for shared progress.”
US President Barack Obama said that the U.N. has helped to create an international order that advances liberty and prosperity.
What I strongly feel is that the UN has a great scope for expanding world peace, security and understanding through critically appreciating the problems and implementing appropriate and effective actions.
