Theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad enthralls India

Theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad (TSC) enthralled India with staging four of its acclaimed productions at a two-day festival, which began on July 20 at Naihati Oikatan Mancha in West Bengal, India.
Padatik staged the plays ‘Gahonjatra’ and ‘Kaalratri’ on July 20, while the plays ‘Janmanko’ and ‘Gunjan Bibir Pala’ were staged on July 21.‘The festival has been organized by two Indian theatre troupes. We hope to stage our best and latest productions at the festival’, said Padatik Natya Sangsad member Shakhwat Hossain Shimul. ‘Gahonjatra’ is a monodrama.
Written by Rubaiyat Ahmed and directed by Sudip Chakraborthy, the monodrama addresses the rise of extremism in society. ‘Kaalratri’, on the other hand, is a liberation war-based play. The play, based on Shireen Hossain’s story ‘Lone Survivor’, has been adapted by Tanvir Ahmed Sydney and directed by Wahidul Islam.
