Three alleged ‘robbers’ lynched by mob in Chittagong

Dhaka – Three suspected robbers were lynched in a mob attack in Uttar Kathtali Beribandh area of the port city of Chittagong, about 300 kilometres southeast of Dhaka early Wednesday, unb news agency reported.
Two of the deceased were identified as Sagor,31, and Rasel,22, while identity of another could not be known immediately.Officer-in-charge of Akbarshah Police Station Sudip Das said a gang of robbers gathered in the area preparing to commit robbery around 3:30am.
Sensing the presence of the robbers, local people chased them off and caught eight of them while the others managed to flee.
Later, the mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving three of them dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed in and recovered the three bodies from the spot.
The law enforcers also arrested five robbers –Alauddin, Rubel, Manir, Rana, and Rubel– and recovered one pistol, one light gun, some sharp weapons and three rounds of bullet.
The bodies were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.
