CHITTAGONG – Three journalists of privately-run Boishakhi television channel were attacked by miscreants while the newsmen were taking footages of hill cutting at city’s Khulshi area early Sunday.The newsmen were Assignment editor of Boishakhi Television Mithun Mostafiz, its Chittagong Bureau chief Mohsin Chowdhury and photo journalist Ahadul Islam Babu.Chittagong Bureau chief of Boishakhi television Mohsin Chowdhury, also general secretary of Chittagong Press Club, said they were attacked by the miscreants while they were recording the incident of hill cutting at city’s Khulshi area around 1am.
“The miscreants attacked us with sticks and damaged the video camera while we were taking footages of removing soil with an excavator and 20-25 trucks from a hill owned by Ispahani Group at dead of night”, Mohsin said adding that the attackers left the scene after they called police over phone.Later, the journalists went to Khulshi police station and filed a complaint in this regard.(BSS)
