Three films bag awards in Indian Film Festival

Three Bangladeshi films were awarded at the Bodhisattva International Film Festival held in Patna, the capital of Indian state of Bihar. The festival took place from February 16 to 23 at Adhiveshan Bhavan in Patna.
Tasmiah Afrin Mou directed short film titled ‘Kabi Swamir Mrityur Par Amar Jabanbandi’ won Silver Bodhisattva Award in the short film section of the festival.
Besides, Khandokar Sumon’s Pounapunik and Shabnam Ferdousy’s Janmasathi respectively bagged the Special Jury Mention Award in the short film section and Special Jury Mention Award in the documentary film section of the festival.
Bollywood actor-turned-politician Satrughann Sinha inaugurated the festival, which featured films from 122 countries.
Kobi Swamir Mrittur Por Amar Jabanbandhi portrays the emotions of a recently widowed woman who is having a feeling of deliverance after the death of her poet husband. The cast of the film includes Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Ali Ahsan, Maria, Raita and Irin Parvin.
Besides, two Bangladeshi feature films Aung Rakhaine’s My Bicycle and Rubaiyat Ahmed’s Under Construction were also screened at the festival.
