Three get ACC media awards for graft reporting

Three journalists, including Independent TV Staff Correspondent Muhammad Rishad Huda, have been awarded the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Media Award-2014 for their investigative reports on corruption.
The two other journalists are—New Age Staff Reporter Sadiqur Rahman and ABC Radio Senior Reporter Amin Al Rasheed.
The ACC handed over the Media Award to the journalists at a function at the commission’s conference room on Thursday.Addressing the function as the chief guest, ACC Chairman M Badiuzzaman emphasized the need for improving the quality of investigation into the inquiry of allegations received by the commission.
“We feel frustrated if we cannot fully complete the job,” he added.
Presided over by ACC secretary M Faizur Rahman Chowdhury, the ACC Media Award giving ceremony was also addressed, among others, by ACC Commissioners—M Shahabuddin and Dr Md Nasir Uddin, Chief Editor of Boishakhi Television Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and ACC Director General (Prevention & Research) Shamsul Arefin.
This year the ACC provided a total of three awards in two categories – print and electronic media.
The anti-corruption watchdog started the award giving event from last year. The ACC was scheduled to give six awards to reporters but jury board has not found total six reports from the submitted reports in this year.
