Three persons were killed and another one injured by lightning in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas of the district this evening.The deceased were identified as Fulera, 35, wife of Ashraful Islam of Surjanarayanpur Sonardichar under Narayanpur union of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila, Fulera’s daughter Babita, 9 and Saidur Rahman, 25, son of Mofazzal Biswas of Bahalabari under Shibganj upazila.Chairman of the UP Advocate Alamgir Kabir said, a mother and her daughter were killed as lightning hit them during a thunder shower this evening. At the time they are living at home, he added.Another woman identified as Sharifunnesa, 45, wife of Ekramul Haque of the nearby house was struck by lightning at the same time and was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition, he added.In another lightning strike at Bahalabari in Shibganj upazila, Saidur Rahman was injured and rushed to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. hospital sources said. -BSS, Chapainawabganj
