Taka 2.50 lakh were distributed among 50 wounded FF and insolvent family members of the martyred freedom fighters at a reception ceremony here on the occasion of the Victory Day on Tuesday.
Narayanganj Zila Parishad organized the reception programme on its office premises.
A large number of freedom fighters and family members of martyred freedom fighters of five upazilas of the district attended the reception.
Presided over by Administrator of Narayanganj Zila Parishad Abdul Hai, the programme was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner Monoj Kanti Boral as the chief guest, Police Super Syed Nurul Islam, Additional District Magistrate Mahmudur Rahman Habib, Chief Executive officer of Narayanganj Zila Parishad Kazi Meraj Hossain, UNO of Narayanganj Sadar upazila Gausul Azam, Commander of Narayanganj District unit of Bangladesh Muktijodda Sangsad, Samiullah Milon, Narayanganj district JSD president Abdus Sattar and Commander Gopi Nath Das.
Each freedom fighter received a cheque for Taka 5,000 and the families of six martyred freedom fighters got special gift boxes. –BSS, Narayanganj
