Benapole – A group of miscreants allegedly looted Tk two lakh and some gold from a house after beating the inmates at Collage Para in Sharsha upazila in Jessore district on Sunday night.Sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station Ashraf said a group of hoodlums demanded Tk 50,000 as toll from local fruits trader Ajgar Ali, 28, a resident of College Para.As Ajgar denied paying the toll, a group of miscreants carried out an attack at his house around 11:30pm.They stormed the house of Ajgar breaking into the door of the house and beat him up with hammer and sharp weapons, leaving him injured.As his wife Mariam tried to save him, the hoodlums also hacked her.Later, the hooligans looted Tk two lakh and gold ornaments from the house and fled scene.The injured were whisked off to Jessore General Hospital.
