Natore, July 2 – A car carrying BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Habibur Rahman Habib along with his family members was hit by a truck in the Kashikata area on Natore-Bonpara highway in Gurudaspur upazila on Sunday, leaving him and 4 others injured.Dileep Kumar Das, OC of Gurudaspur Police Station said the accident took place when a truck hit the private car, and it plunged off the road. Habib, his wife Nazma Haque, daughters Auntara and Bubly and driver Nishan, all sustained injuries.
Later locals rescued them and admitted them to Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex. Despite injuries, none of them are said to be in danger.
They were going to Dhaka from their village home in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district OC added. Habibur Rahman Habib, former president of the Awami League-Supported Bangladesh Chhatra League did steer the participation of his organisation in the 1990 mass movement that led to the fall of the Jatiya Party regime headed by HM Ershad. He fell from grace of the parent organisation ever since and subsequently joined the BNP- UNB
