Two minor children drowned in separate incidents at different places
in Rangpur and Gaibandha districts on Wednesday, police and local
people said.
Suman Roy, 10, son of Sunil Jugi of village Dakshin Kolkond under
Gangachara upazila in Rangpur drowned in a nearby pond while taking
bathe with his friends at noon yesterday.
At the shouts of his friends, villagers went there, recovered Suman in
a critical condition and rushed him to Gangachara Upazila Health
Complex where doctor declared him dead.
Minor boy Siam Sarker, 3, son of Rezaul Karim of village Kishamat
Bagchee under Sadullapur upazila in Gaibandha drowned in a nearby pond
while playing there in absence of his parents.
Later, his floating body was recovered at noon, the sources said.
