The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday placed two women of a militant outfit on a seven-day remand each in a case filed in connection with Saturday’s raid at a militant hideout in Ashkona of the city’s Dakkhin Khan area.Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona of the CMM Court passed the order after Inspector Saidur Rahman of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the DMP produced them to the court with a 10-day remand plea for each. The remand petition of Saidur Rahman, who is also the Investigation Officer of the case says, the two women- Trisha Moni, wife of the militant outfit “Neo JMB” leader Maynul Musa and Jebunnahar Shila, widow of retired Major Jahid alias Murad, are active members of “Neo JMB”, and they were found involved in subversive activities.
Ambulances left Ashkona after operation codenamed Ripple 24 on Saturday. Afif Kaderi, a 14-year- old boy has been found injured following the explosion, according to the police. However, his body bore multiple bullet wounds. The boy’s father Tanvir, a Neo JMB leader allegedly refused to surrender during the September 10 raid on a militant hideout and committed suicide in Azimpur area.
Earlier, in the morning, the two women ‘surrendered’ to police along with two babies after the law enforcement cordoned off the building. – Special Correspondent
