Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 28 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Amtala intersection in the district town on Thursday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Mahiuddin, son of Majid Sardar, a resident of Kathonda village, and Farhad Hossain, son of late Nur Uddin of Khalilnagar village in Sadar upazila.Assistant sub-inspector Amirul Islam of Katia police camp said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and intercepted the motorcycle carrying the duo at about 9:30 am.Later, the law enforcers recovered 28 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup after searching their bodies and arrested them.Police also seized the motorcycle.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Satkhira
