Two persons were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents at Sadar upazila of
the district last night.
The deceased were identified Nasir Morol, 42, son of Liakot Morol of Bashundia Kolonipara
area under Sadar upazila and Liton Gazi, 30, son of Nur Hossain Gazi of Ulashi village under
Sharsha upazila in the district.
Police and eyewitnesses sources said the first accident occurred when a bus hit a Nasimon
(locally-made vehicle) in Bashundia area on the Jessore-Khulna Highway, leaving Naimon
passenger Nasir dead on the spot and injuring three others.
In another accident occurred while a motorcycle collided head on with a covered van in
Malonchi area on the Jessore-Benapole Highway around 10.30 am, leaving motorcycle rider
Liton dead on the spot and injuring another.
The injured were sent to local and Jessore Medical College Hospital.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent these to Jessore 250-bed Hospital
morgue.
