Two persons including a minor girl were killed in separate road accidents in Jhikargacha
and Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Towhidur Rahman, 35, son of Habibur Rahman of Bakra
village under Jhikargacha upazila and Ruma Khatun, 5, daughter of Shabuddin Ahmed of
Tapshidanga village under Sadar upazila of the district.
Police and local sources said, the first accident occurred when Towhidur fallen from a
running bus in Roghunathpur area under Jhikargacha upazila and injured seriously.
Locals taken him to Jessore 250-bed hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Besides, minor girl Ruma died on the spot when a speedy truck hit her in Nongorpur area
on the Jessore-Magura Highway under Sadar upazila while she was crossing the road.
Separate cases were filed in Jhikargacha and Sadar thana in these connections. -SS,
