Two workers were crushed to death under steel plates when chains came apart in a steel mill crane in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area on Sunday, police told bdnews24.com. Jatrabari Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said two others were injured in the crash at the Shahriar Mill and Re-rolling Mill at Konapara in the Golden Bridge area.
Those killed were identified as Mohammad Jalal, 25 and Mohammad Atik, 28. Both died on spot.
“The injured are being treated in local clinic,” Islam said, adding they rushed to the spot to recover the bodies.
