Two more accused confess to Rajon murder

Anowarul Haq, Magistrate-3 of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday afternoon recorded the confessional statements of two more accused in the Rajon murder case of Sylhet.
ACCused Nur Mia and Dulal Mia made confessional statements admitting their involvement in the sensational murder. Later, at 6 about pm, they were sent to the jail.Earlier, Moyna Mia, a union board panel guard, made confessional statement to the Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Sylhet on Monday evening and the same   Magistrate had recorded his statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc).
Teenager Rajon was tortured to death by a group of persons at Kumargaon on the outskirts of Sylhet city around 7:30 am on July 8. The three accused filmed the torture scene.
A 28-minute video, recorded on a mobile phone camera, shows the victim tied to a pole in front of a workshop in the still-closed Sultan Ali Market, beside the Dhaka-Sunamganj road. From the video, it seemed there were five to six men who took part in the torture.
The Jalalabad Police Station lodged a murder case in this connection and later  Rajon’s father was named a complainant. A five-member committee has also formed to investigate into the killing of 13-year Rajon.
Muhit was listed as the prime accused in the case, while his brother Kamrul Islam, 24, accomplice Ali Haider, 34, and guard Moyna Miah, 45, were charged with the murder as well.
Prime accused Muhit was held while dumping Rajon’s body on the day of the murder. Later Muhit’s cousin Ismail Hossain Ablus was detained in Sylhet and absconding accused Kamrul Islam was detained in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia on July 13. Moyna Mia was arrested on Tuesday night and another accused Dulal on Wednesday. – Special Correspondent
