Two more accused in Garo women murder case confess

Dhaka, March 27 – Two more accused in the Garo women murder case on Tuesday made confessions admitting their involvement in the killing.They are Probin Sangma and Shuvo Shisim and with this, all four accused made confessions in the case. Sujata’s nephew (son of sister) Sanjib and three of his friends were sued in the case.
Two accused- Sanjib Chiran and Razu Sangma earlier, made confessions in the Garo women murder case before the CMM Court.
Probin and Shuvo were placed on a three-day remand and they agreed voluntarily to give confessional statements during their remand.
Earlier on Tuesday, Salauddin Mia, Inspector (Civil) of Gulshan Police Station, produced them before the court and sought to record their confessional statements.
Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka recorded the statement of Probin while Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded Shuvo’s statement. Later, they were sent to the jail.
It may be mentioned that Besset Chiran, 65 and her daughter Sujata Chiran, 40, were found dead at their rented flat at Kalachandpur of Gulshan on Tuesday evening.
Of them, Sujata was hacked to death while her mother Besset was strangulated. It has been presumed that the double murder might have happened over a family feud.
Slain Sujata’s husband Ashish Mankin filed the case with Gulshan Police Station last Wednesday after the incident. – Special Correspondent
