U19 Test: Bangladesh take 1-0 lead against Sri Lanka

Dhaka – Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team took 1-0 lead in the two-match Youth Test series against host Sri Lanka having a 13-run victory in the first Test, which ended on day-four at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo on Saturday.Having 309 runs, the young Tigers’ resumed the second innings with overnight score of 18 for 1 and a lead of 39 runs, but Sri Lankan bowlers fought back in the early morning by taking wickets in regular intervals as Bangladesh finished on 115 for all in 45.2 overs, setting up a target of 137 for the hosts.

To defend a low total, Sahin Alam and Rakibul Hasan equally shared six wickets for Bangladesh’s win, restricting Sri Lanka on 123/10 in 43.3 overs in the second innings.

Shamim and Shoriful picked up one wicket each for the winning side.
