UP chairman killed in Jhenidah

A union parishad (UP) chairman was killed in an attack by unidentified
miscreants in the town on Sunday night.
The deceased identified as Ruhul Biswas, 48, son of Golam Ali Biswas
of Bagutia in sadar upazila was the chairman of Naldanga Union
Parishad.
Police and witnesses said four-five miscreants hurled crude bombs at
Ruhul and his associates while they were standing at Hamdoha bus stand
around 7:30 pm.
As people around them ran away amid the smoke originated from the
crude bomb blasts, the miscreants chopped the chairman mercilessly and
left the scene leaving him injured.
Later, local people took him to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital where doctors
declared him dead around 8:15 PM.
Police recovered five machetes and five live crude bombs from the spot.
