The administration distributed 62,438 kilogram of rice under
Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) programme among 640 distressed
women on Chilmari upazila parishad premises in Kurigram on Saturday,
official sources said.Chilmari UNO Mamun-Ul-Hassan distributed 97.56 kilogram of rice among
each of the 640 beneficiary women, who were deprived of their
allocated VGD rice for four months following alleged irregularities of
the local union parishad authorities.
Chilmari Upazila Engineer Ajay Kumar Sarker, Women Affairs Officer
Sokhina Khatun, Relief Officer for Ramna model union Relief Committee
Kabirul Islam, Secretary of the union parishad Mehedi Alam Suman, NGO
executive Aminul Islam Beer and all male and female union members were
present.
