A total of 5,000 hectares of land has been brought under wheat cultivation in five upazilas of the district during the current Rabi crop cultivation season with a production target of 15,000 tonnes.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has supplied all necessary seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agriculture inputs at a free of cost to the farmers to achieve the production target.
Besides, the department has provided training to the farmers to acquaint them with the modern scientific methods of wheat cultivation.
The farmers of the district are expecting bumper wheat production this year if the weather remains well. -BSS, Panchagarh
