Two persons were arrested along with 434 grams of gold and 636 cartoons of contraband cigarette from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here this morning.
“We arrested Zahiruddin, 45, and Ali Sheikh, 40 from No 2 canopy area immediately after they had landed at the airport by a flight of Regent Airlines of Malaysia at 10am”, senior assistant police super Members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Alamgir Hossain said.
He also said they recovered four gold bars weighing 434 grams of gold worth about Taka 20 lakh and 636 cartons of contraband Easy Black Cigarette worth about Taka 10 lakh from their possession.
A case was lodged with Bimanbandar Police Station in this regard. –BSS, Dhaka
