A debate is on whether to switch off Indian TV Channels for their impacts on the Bangladesh viewers. In fact, our TV channels are also catering entertaining programs for the viewers but the only problem is—our channels are flooded with news, talk-shows and ads. If we look closely, it would be found that certain popular Indian channels are left exclusively for airing entertaining programs. Most of our TV programs are no less standard than those of the foreign TV channels. But in our country, all the channels round the day and night broadcast news, most of the time re-running of the same news-reel. There are the talk-shows, and above all, a lot of ads, viewers often miss the thread of a drama or song program after ads.
In my opinion, certain TV channels in our country should be left for telecasting only entertaining and educative programs. True, ads are very important for earning revenue but these should be incorporated in a rational manner.
