Withdraw blockade Hasan Mahmud Urges Bnp, allies

Awami League leader Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday called upon the BNP chairperson, who heads the 20-party alliance, to withdraw their nationwide indefinite transport blockade programme, as a devastated mother who realises the pain and agony of the parents who lost  their offspring during the current violent movement.
“Now she (Khaleda Zia) is certainly realising the shocks of those who lost their sons in arson attacks during blockade programme…she must withdraw the blockade and seek apology to the people for the violent activities,” he said while addressing a rally organised by Bangladesh College-University Shikkhak Samity (Bakbishis) in front of the Jatiya Press Club.Hasan, the Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary,  said  killings by arson attacks and hurling petrol bombs in the name of politics had no precedent in the world, terming it ‘only killing’ and not at all politics.
Referring to the BNP’s handling of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to console Khaleda Zia following her son’s death, Hasan said,
“By doing so BNP has exposed its meanness and dirty state of mind.”
He called upon the people to hand over the activists engaged in hurling petrol bombs and arson attacks to the law enforcers after mass-beating.
Among others, Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman, president of Bakbishis and its secretary general Professor Sirajul Haque Alo spoke at the rally – UNB
