A woman was burned to death as a fire broke out in a house at Chapgram village in Tongibari upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Orniba Rani Pal, 55, wife of Kartik Chandra Pal.Zillur Rahman, in-charge of Dighirpar Police investigation camp, said the fire broke out at the house of Kartik Chandra around 2pm and gutted the house.
Locals doused the fire after an hour of frantic effort, said police.Orniba Rani Pal who was staying in a room of the house was burned to death, said Zillur Rahman.On information, police visited the spot.
