Woman dies from polls violence wounds in Munshiganj

A woman, who received bullet wounds in a clash during election to Gazaria upazila on Sunday, died at a hospital in the capital on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Lucky Begum, 32, wife of BNP rebel candidate Abdul Mannan.   Confirming the incident, police said the supporters of Abdul Mannan, numbering around 500, encircled the polling officers when they were going to the election office with election materials after closing the polls on March 23.At one stage, the army personnel on duty opened fire on them, leaving 15 people, including Lucky injured.Among the injured, Lucky was rushed to Apollo Hospitals in the city where she succumbed to her injures at about 11:45 pm on Thursday.With this, a total of three people have died in polls-related violence in the district.  -UNB, Munshiganj
