Members of Bangladesh Border Guard in a drive arrested a woman in possession of 8920 coins of Tk 1 denomination each from Putkhali border area on Saturday night. The arrestee was identified as Shirina Akhter, 35, daughter of Muntaz, a resident of Jessore rail station area of sadar upazila. Being tipped off, BGB conducted a drive in the area at night and arrested Shirina along with the coins of Tk 1 denomination each while she was in an attempt to smuggle those out of the country to India.Later the arrestee was handed over Benapole port police station.Apurbo Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole port police station, confirmed the incident.
