Police arrested a woman along with a foreign 9mm pistol, four bullets and 15 bottles of Phensidyl at Shibnathpur Baropota village in the upazila of Jashore district on Sunday night.
The arrested was identified as Rahena Begum, 38, wife of Kamrul of Shibnathpur village.
Sayed Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Benapole Port Police Station, said on secret information about arms trading in the house, a team of police conducted a drive at the house of Rahena last night and arrested Rahena with the foreign pistol, bullets and Phensidyl from the house, while her husband managed to flee. A case was filed in this connection, the OC added, reports BSS from Benapole.
