A woman was killed in a train accident near Jamtoli railway station in Kamarkanda upazila on Tuesday evening.The victim was identified as Monowara Begum, 40, wife of Akter of Chala area in the upazila.Haidar Ali, sub-inspector of Sirajganj Government Railway Police, said Dhaka-bound intercity train ‘Nilsagar’ from Nilphamari knocked down Monowara while she was crossing the tracks around 4.45 pm, leaving her dead on the spot.Being informed, railway police recovered the body and, upon request, handed over it to the deceased’s relatives without any post-mortem examination. -UNB, Sirajganj
