Sirajganj, Apr 27 (UNB) – A group of women snatched an arrested leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from police at Bakhua village in Ullapara upazila on Wednesday.Dewan Kaushik Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Ullapara Model Police Station, said police arrested local Jamaat leader Atwar Rahman from his house at the village in the afternoon as he was wanted in a number of cases.
As police tried to put him into their van, 50-60 women swooped on the law enforcers and snatched Atwar. The Jamaat leader then fled the scene.
