World Water Day Wednesday

Dhaka, March 22 – The World Water Day is being observed in the country, as elsewhere across the globe Wednesday with a theme ‘Water and Wastewater’.WaterAid Bangladesh, in association with HSBC Bangladesh and Sajida Foundation, will arrange a programme at T&T Adarsha Girls’ High School, Wireless Gate, Mohakhali marking the day.
CEO of HSBC Bangladesh Francois de Maricourt, Director of Fundraising & Learning of WaterAid Bangladesh Dr Imrul Kayes Muniruzzaman will, among others, be present at the programme.
Thousands of school children are expected to take part in the programme through various colourful activities .
World Water Day is held annually on March 22 as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
The 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) recommended the day as international water day. – UNB
