Dhaka, Mar 22 – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested an alleged robber along with eight firearms and 10 bullets from Shyamlapur in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.Tipped off, a team of Rab-7 conducted a raid on the house of Nurul Alam, 32, at Shyamlapur around 5.30pm and arrested him with four firearms and ammunition, said Mohammad Mainuddin, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station.
Acting on his statement, the OC said, four more firearms were dug out from the courtyard of his house around 4:00am on Wednesday.
“Alam is an accused in 12 cases, including the one filed for raping a foreign female tourist in 2013,” he said. – UNB
