WVB distributes education materials among vulnerable children

World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) started distribution of education materials among 3,000 most vulnerable children of different villages under Mithapukur upazila here from Thursday afternoon.
On the inaugural day, education materials were distributed among 1,000 vulnerable children at a ceremony arranged at WVB office in Mithapukur town with its Mithapukur Area Development Programme (ADP) Manager Joseph Minj in the chair.The WVB will complete distribution of the education materials by tomorrow with assistances of members of the Integrated Village Development Committees under the programme to ensure education of the vulnerable children. Each of the beneficiary children is getting a package of eight exercise books, four pens, three pencils, three erasures and two sharpeners under the programme.Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Mithapukur upazila Mamun-ar-Rashid distributed the education materials and took part in a discussion arranged on the occasion as the chief guest.Principal of Amodpur Degree College Tajul Islam Liton, Sub-inspector of Mithapukur Thana Ershadul Huque and its Assistant Sub-inspector Mominur Rahman addressed as special guests.The speakers appreciated the programmes being run by WVB in Mithapukur upazila for the well being of the vulnerable children, especially for concentrating on child welfare issues through ensuring their education and preventing malnutrition.They highly lauded parents of the vulnerable children and encouraged them to pay more attention to their children for ensuring their education to make them worthy
citizens of the soil.The chief guest urged all concerned to change the social attitude towards the girl children, advocated for ensuring their education and stopping child marriage before eighteen year age of their daughters.He put special emphasis on rights of the children with disability and asked all concerned to ensure their equal rights and participations everywhere to make them worthy citizens so that they could contribute in the nation building activities. –BSS, Rangpur
