The body of one of the two college students who went missing while bathing in the Piain River at tourist sport Jaflong on Wednesday was recovered on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Antar, 18, a Class-XI student of Kabi Nazrul College and son of M Sanaullah of Wari in the capital.
Police said locals fished out the body of Antar around 9:30pm.
However, his friend Sohagh Ghosh, 17, could not be rescued yet.
Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, the college students went missing while bathing in the river.
Victims’ friend Tanvir Ahmed said they — six friends — came to Jaflong to spend their Eid holiday.
Antar and Sohagh went missing while all of the friends were taking bath at the river around 3pm on Wednesday.
