A young man was hacked to death by miscreants at Batikamara village in Kumarkhali upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ranju, 29, son of Abdul Azim, a resident of the same village.Police said a gang of miscreants swooped on Ranju and hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately at about 9:00 pm when he was staying in the area near his house leaving him seriously injured.He was first rushed to Kumarkhali upazila health complex and then to Kushtia General Hospital.Later he died on way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.Officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station Mahibul Islam confirmed the murder.Ranju might have been killed over previous enmity, the OC added.
