Dhaka- Detectives arrested a young man along with 12 gold bars from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area in the city on Tuesday evening.The arrestee was known as Md Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, 34.Based on secret information, a special team of Detective Branch (DB, North) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Iqbal around 5:05pm and recovered the gold bullion, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.During preliminary interrogation, Iqbal reportedly revealed that he had long been involved in smuggling gold into the country from abroad.UNB news agency
