Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a young man in possession of 1,480 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from a truck in Octroymore area in the district town on Tuesday night.The arrestee was identified as Akbar Ali,30, son of Abdul Hannan, a resident of Hausnagar village in Shibganj upazila.Assistant Superintendent of Police Qamrul Ahsan said tipped off, a team of Rab took position in the area at about 8:30 pm.The elite force intercepted a truck coming from Manakasha area of Shibganj upazila for Dhaka.Later, they recovered 1,480 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from the truck and arrested Akbar.A case was filed in this connection.UNB, Chapainawabganj
