SSC examinees form human chain in Gulshan

SSC examinees of some city schools, their guardians and teachers yesterday formed a human chain programme in front of BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office demanding the withdrawal of ongoing blockade and hartal programme to help them sit for examinations without any disruption.
Leaders and activists of local Chhatra league, Juba League, Juba League and Mohila League also took part in the human chain programme that lasted for half an hour from 11:30am.
Several hundred students of Gulshan Model School and College, Cambrian School and College and Kalachandpur High Scholl formed the human chain carrying play cards with the inscription saying no to hartal and blockade, saving the future of students’ and we want peace.Prior to the human chain programme, local MP and president of BNF Abul Kalam Kalam Azad called upon the 20-party alliance to withdraw the hartal and blockade programme considering future of the children.
He also urged the political leaders to help the SSC examinees so that they can sit for examinations without interruption.
Abdul Hamid, a teacher of Cambrian School and College said that they took part in the human chain programme demanding stopping the hartal and blockade programme since SSC examinees are suffering from uncertainties.
Golam Mostafa, a guardian, said they have broken down mentally as their children are facing impediments due to hartal and street violence.
Sajjad Hossain, a student of Cambrian School and College, said that they call upon the BNP chairperson to withdrawal the hartal and blockade programme.
Earlier, some BCL activists tried to take position in front of the BNP chairperson office from its northern side. When obstructed by police they moved away but later they joined the human chain programme.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia remains disconnected from communicating out of her office using telephones, Internet and watch the cable TV channels as all the services have remained disconnected since January 31. – Staff Reporteer
