Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a young man in possession of a Japanese-made pistol and seven rounds of bullet from a bus at Hatikumrul intersection in Salanga upazila early Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Billal Hossain, 28, son of Abul Hossain, a resident of Jattrabari area in Dhaka.RAB-12 sources said on secret information, a team of RAB intercepted a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Hanif Paribahan’ coming from Dinajpur in the area and arrested Billal at about 2:00 am. The force also recovered a Japanese-made pistol and seven rounds of bullet from his possession.Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal confirmed the arrest.
